Hi, I’m Caitlyn-Welcome to Our Little Blue Homestead.

The name comes from our cozy 900 sqft little blue house on the outskirts of town-where my family and I started our suburban homesteading journey together. What began as a simple dream of fresh eggs and a little garden quickly grew into raising backyard chickens, tending vegetables, and filling our home with fresh bread.

About me

Homemaking, gardening, outdoor living, and hosting have always been passions of mine, but it was here-in this little blue house-that I discovered just how much joy can come from slowing down and creating a simpler, more intentional way of life.

Here, I share the joys of simple living-whether that’s experimenting with bread machine recipes, nurturing a garden, gathering eggs from the coop, or hosting friends outdoors. I believe you don’t need acres of land to create a meaningful homestead-just a little space, a heart to create, and a love for the little things.

I created this blog to share our journey, recipes and lessons learned along the way. My hope is that Our little Blue Homestead will inspire you to start your own version of simple living-whether that’s a backyard garden, a loaf of homemade bread, or a flock of chickens in the suburbs.
