Hot dog buns using the Bread Machine

Hot dogs never tasted so good! You’ll be amazed at how much better homemade hot dog buns are and with your bread machine, it’s never been so easy to make homemade hot dogs buns either. 

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • 6 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 3/4 cups bread flour (or all purpose)
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • To begin, place all of your ingredients inside the bread machine pan in the order listed. Dry ingredients go last.
  • Press the ‘dough’ setting on your bread machine then select start. Dough cycle usually takes around 1 hour to complete
  • Once the dough cycle is complete, place dough onto a lightly floured surface. Shape into one long cylinder.
  • Divide the dough into 8-10 sections. 8 for large buns, 10 for medium-sized buns.
  • Place the shaped buns 1/2 in apart from each other on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. You want your buns to touch after rising and baking, this will yield in a soft pull apart buns.
  • Cover dough and allow the buns to rise for 30-45 minutes or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat oven to 350. Brush buns with an egg wash (1 TBSP WATER, 1 EGG, lightly whisked)
  • Cook buns for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Brush with butter, sesame seeds, everything bagel seasoning, poppy seeds or simply leave plain. Serve and enjoy!
