Jalapeño cheddar buns in the bread machine

Delicious soft jalapeno cheddar buns made using the bread machine.
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
bread machine time 1 hour 30 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 55 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 3/4 cup bread flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast

Add in at the second knead

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced jalapeños (in a jar)
  • 1 tbsp minced onions (optional)
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Place ingredients in the pan in the order listed above. *Do not add the cheese or jalapenos yet.*
  • Set the bread machine to the 'dough' cycle then press start.
  • When the machine beeps during the kneading cycle, it’s time to add your cheese and jalapenos! If you have an older machine, it may not let you know when the second kneading cycle begins. It is usually only a few minutes in, watch your bread machine to see. 
  • When the dough cycle is complete, take the dough out of the machine and place it on a floured surface. 
  • Divide the dough into 6-8 sections.
  • Shape each section into a large disk shape. 
  • Cover and allow buns to rise 30 minutes or until doubled in size. 
  • Bake for 12-15 mins or until golden brown. Enjoy!
