How to make an easy handmade valentines day card

Not only are these easy handmade valentines day cards super sweet, simple and budget friendly, you can customize them any way you please! You likely even have the materials laying around the house. They are so simple, my girls even helped assemble them for their class.

Materials needed:

  • Cardstock
  • Scrap fabric or your choice of focus, could use card stock for this as well
  • Pen to write or letter stamps (optional)
  • glue dots or tape

Picking a subject for your easy valentines day cards

First, choose your topic of focus!

My daughter is into sewing right now, so we used a cutter quilt found at a thrift store (a quilt that has been loved so much, it is no longer usable for a blanket, but could be used for other projects) to make hearts, this allowed her to sew the hearts together, and then we came up with funny puns to go with sewing + love. Im telling you, these are completely customizable! You could use anything! Really, the possibilities are endless.

For an example, If your child is into space, you could do stars out of fabric, cardstock ( or even hand paint it if you are feeling crafty) and come up with puns such as “I thank my lucky stars for you” or “You brighten my day”.

Assembling your Easy Valentines day cards

Now that you have a subject, let’s assemble our easy handmade valentines day cards, filled with love!

First, cut your cardstock to size or buy blank cards like these.

Next, assemble your subject-this is when we cut and sewed our fabric quilted hearts.

Next, Come up with a list of puns! This is not a requirement, this just makes it that more fun.

Then, use your glue dots or tape to attach your subject to your cardstock cards.

Finally, Use your marker or letter stamps to complete the cards with your choice of words, or fun love day puns!

Now, give your easy handmade valentines card to your valentines!

That’s it! You handmade an easy valentines day card filled with love! These are special, unique, budget friendly and oh so much fun!

My daughter shared these with her class. You could do the same, or simply share with your loved ones.

Happy Valentines day!

xo,

Caitlyn
