If you’re looking for the ultimate hamburger bun, look no further. These easy small batch Hamburger Buns using a bread machine are not only quick and simple to make but also light, fluffy and so delicious!

Our bread machine gets used multiple times a week, we use it to make all kinds of bread.

Anywhere from pizza dough, lunch time tortillas for quesadillas, dinner rolls, sandwich bread and now Hamburger Buns! It is constantly in use, In fact, it has a permanent spot on the counter at this point.

My goal is to never have to buy store-bought bread again. Hamburger buns seemed a little daunting. I had tried to make buns by hand before and failed. With the bread machines simple ingredients and hands off approach, this recipe really is fool proof!

All you have to do for these buns is shape them.

How to make an Easy small batch of Hamburger buns using a bread Machine

Simply add the ingredients to the bread machine and let it do all the hard work for you.

In no time at all, you’ll have a small batch of fresh, warm hamburger buns. Brush with butter and sprinkle toasted sesame seeds or leave plain for BBQ sandwiches.

Either way, they are totally delicious. I don’t plan on buying store bought buns ever again!

Simple ingredients-Homemade hamburger buns are much more tasty and less expensive than store bought brands. Homemade hamburger buns are also made with simple ingredients. You know exactly what is going into your buns!

Soft and Delicious- You’ll love how pillowy soft, buttery and delicious these homemade hamburger buns are. Not to mention, they are huge!

Quick and easy- These hamburger buns using a bread machine can be ready for BBQ sandwiches or a yummy hamburger in no time. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to make my own buns. I’ll never buy store bought buns again.

No kneading– Homemade hamburger buns in the bread machine require no kneading, from you anyway! Just a quick shaping after the Bread machine has done all the hard work.

INGREDIENTS – What you need to make homemade hamburger buns!

  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3 3/4 cup bread flour (or all-purpose flour will do)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 1/4 tsp yeast

Servings – 6 buns. Want more? Just double all of the recipe ingredients to make 12 buns.

Although, I assure you, these buns are rather large.

INSTRUCTIONS

Add your ingredients in the bread machine pan in the order listed. Dry ingredients go last.

Then, press the ‘dough’ setting on your bread machine. 

When the dough cycle is complete, take the dough out of the machine and place it on a floured countertop.

Divide the dough into 6 sections.

Shape each section into a large disk shape.

Allow the buns to Rise for 30 minutes.

Confession: When I first made hamburger buns, I was so confused why recipes only had you make the top part of your bun…Until I realized you slice it in half to get both a top and a bottom. It’s okay, You can laugh, I am too.

So just a P.S…You will slice the bun in half after you cook it to reveal a top and bottom of hamburger bun, just incase you didn’t know. Lol!

Preheat oven to 350. Brush buns with an egg wash (1 TBSP WATER, 1 EGG, lightly whisked)

Cook buns for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Brush with butter, sesame seeds, or leave plain.

Yes, it’s really that easy!

Can you freeze this small batch of hamburger buns?

Yes. To freeze your rolls, follow the steps above until you have formed your disk shape. Once your rolls are formed, place them on a baking sheet and into the freezer for 24 hrs. After frozen, transfer them to a plastic bag. 

When you are ready for your rolls, let them thaw and rise on the counter for 4-5 hrs then bake as normal.

BAKING SCHEDULE 

3 PM: Dump all ingredients into bread machine. 

4 PM: Shape dough. Brush with egg wash. Bake. 

5 PM: Enjoy your buns!
