And on this farm we had a PARTY!

This past weekend we celebrated our little farmer with a backyard farm themed party for his 3rd birthday.

It was so much fun! The kids fed our baby goats with bottles, rode ponies (stick horses that is, this is backyard farm after all-no real ponies here) ate homemade strawberry ice cream and one of our chickens even laid an egg during the party! We joked that she was gifting the egg to our son for his birthday. Haha!

FARM THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY DECOR

Keeping it simple, It just so happen to work out that we really do have a backyard farm going on. I definitely kept that in mind when picking this theme. Because of that, not very many farm party decorations were needed.

We just used the goat pen and baby goats, our 3 ducks waddling around, the chicken coop and our garden to tie this 3rd birthday farm party theme together!

I did get a few farm birthday decorations for the table area, I got the sweetest light blue gingham tablecloth, the cutest piggy plates with adorable tractor piñata! The candy even doubled as party favors 🙂

I grabbed a few fresh vegetables and herbs to help set the table. The best part was, I got to keep those for myself afterwards! Score.

The inflatable cow was also hit with the kids! Using tomato cans from San Marzano tomatoes, I made pots for fresh herbs! The barn, tractor, stick ponies and little animals with party hats were all toys from our sons room.

My oldest daughter came up with the idea of bobbing for apples using our barrel! It was so cute and the kids had so much fun trying to get those apples. It was even nice to get splashed by the water. It was a HOT and humid kinda day! It really was the perfect way to cool down. I think the kids agreed.

Playing with the baby goats was fun too 🙂

FARM THEMED PARTY FOOD IDEAS

Since it was so hot and humid we decided to serve homemade ice cream, pizza by the slice, fresh fruit and chocolate chip cookies. It was so hot that the cookies tasted as if they had just come out of a warm oven. You know, all ooey and gooey, yum.
