Patriotic Farmhouse Summer Decor ideas

I can not believe it is the middle of June! Fourth of July is quickly approaching. I can almost smell the backyard BBQ, ahhh! Today I am going to show you a few thrifted summer patriotic decor ideas over here at our little blue cottage!

Summer is probably one of my favorite seasons to decorate. The simplicity of fresh white flowers mixed the vintage red, white and blues of patriotism just feel so refreshing.

My favorite way to decorate our little cottage is with thrifted decor. Thrifted decor tells a story and when curated with all of your favorite pieces, it tells your story.

I’ve gathered tea stained vintage American flags, white ceramic pitchers, old vintage crocks, wooden spoons, and more! Let’s see how I styled them.

My first (and favorite!) way of adding patriotic decor is a simple one. Simply add small flags all around your home.

The hints of vintage red, white and blue will really make your home feel cozy!

My favorite way to display patriotism is a cluster of flags in a vessel such as a white ceramic pitcher or a small crock. Pair it with some white hydrangeas or baby breath for some added summer charm.

Drop on over, I’ll be waiting for you on the porch!

Summer is all about living and getting together. Have a seat on the porch, grab a glass of sweet tea and watch the world pass you by-Maybe water your ferns (a task I can not seem to remember!)

For any decor style, I always shop my home first, then I add small details such as little flags or flowers to bring in whatever season I am decorating for.

With our tiny home only being 900 sqft, we store all of our seasonal decor at our shop- but Instead of storing in bins, I walled up an area where I can let my creativity shine. I decorate ‘my side of the shop’ with all of my vintage thrift finds through out the years and just ‘shop my shop’ season to season! It’s really the best thing and I’d love to show you guys, maybe soon?!

What screams summer patriotism more than old coca-cola crates and worn out boots?!

Tips for Patriotic Decor

  • Shop your house for Red, white and blue items you may already have.
  • Bring in small flags (see how to make tea-stained flags HERE)
  • Add a vintage book stack, in vintage red, white or blues!
  • Use a collection of pillows.
  • Create a vignette using various items of height.
  • Add flowers! Faux or real, you’ll be happy you did.
  • Lastly, Don’t go overboard. Simple hints of red, white and blue will make all the difference.

Simple it is over here, friends! Do you go all out or simply add a few flags? Either way, I know it is just beautiful!! Thanks for hanging out with me here on the blog. See you next time.
