I don’t think anything beats garlic knots. Soft, pillow like rolls, dripping with garlic butter. Ahh, the best!

There its one thing that might come close to beating garlic knots, and that’s making garlic knots using a bread machine.

Using a bread machine to make your dough makes these the best garlic knots! Not only are these garlic knots simple to make, they are absolutely mouth watering too!

Ingredients

Here’s what you need to make these easy bread machine garlic knots.

  • 1/2 cup Warm water
  • 1/2 cup Warm milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 6 tbsp melted or softened butter
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 3 3/4 cup Bread flour (or all purpose flour)
  •  2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp Salt

3 ingredient Garlic Butter

  • 1 stick of butter, melted
  • 1/4 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Parmesan cheese (optional)

We can all agree that fresh garlic and parsley would be wonderful here, but the above is easy and delicious as well!

These easy garlic knots are made using a bread machine to mix, knead, and rise the dough. The garlic knots are then shaped, and baked in the oven.

Step One:

First, Place all of your ingredients in the order listed above, dry ingredients go last. (Water, milk, egg, butter, sugar, flour, salt and yeast)  Set the bread machine to the “dough” setting and press start. Ps..don’t forget the paddle attachment!

Step Two:

Once the dough cycle is complete, place the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Then slice the dough using a dough cutter (or pizza cutter) into 12 equal pieces.

Step Three:

After slicing the soft dough into 12 equal pieces, use your hands to roll each piece of dough back and forth, shaping the dough into a long rope.

Step Four:

After shaping the dough pieces into long ropes, Take each side of the rope, folding one side over the other and tie a knot. Place each knot onto a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Cover and rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 30-45 minutes.

More ways to serve these bread machine garlic knots

You can serve these homemade garlic knots many ways!

  • Sprinkle Italian seasoning and serve these garlic knots with soup.
  • Cover these garlic knots in parmesan cheese and serve with marinara sauce as an appetizer.
  • Serve as garlic bread with fettuccini or any Alfredo pasta.
  • Serve as homemade breadsticks with bread machine pizza!
  • You could use store bought garlic butter, or make this easy 3 ingredient garlic butter recipe in minutes!

Use this same dough to make cinnamon rolls, pizza dough, hamburger buns and more! See my bread machine cookbook making 10 different breads using this exact  same dough!

How to store these easy garlic knots

Store garlic knots in an airtight container for 2-3 days.

These garlic knots are best the day they are baked. If you want to make them ahead for a special gathering, you could bake them and store in an airtight container overnight.

Reheat them for 2 – 3 minutes at 350°F to restore texture and warm them.

Another option, would be to make and shape the rolls, then stick in the fridge overnight then bake as normal the next day.

CAN YOU FREEZE BREAD MACHINE GARLIC KNOTS?

Yes! To freeze your rolls, follow the steps above until you have shaped your garlic knot. Once your garlic knots are shaped, place them on a baking sheet and into the freezer for 24 hrs. After frozen, transfer them to a plastic bag.

When you are ready for your rolls, let them thaw and rise on the counter for 4-5 hrs then bake as normal.

DO I NEED TO USE BREAD MACHINE YEAST IN MY MACHINE? WHAT ABOUT BREAD FLOUR?

If you don’t have bread flour on hand, you can substitute with all-purpose flour. The difference is, the Bread flour will result in a bit fluffier texture.

Bread machine yeast and rapid rise yeast are just types of instant yeast. This means that bread machine yeast, rapid rise yeast and instant yeast can all be used interchangeably. They are essentially the same.
